The first-annual BownessFest is taking place at Our Lady of Assumption School field.
The East Village Street Fair is held annually on Canada Day - July 01 from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Along 8 Avenue SE, between 6 Street & 5 Street SE + 5th Street Square).

Calgary Block Party is back with a new addition - Roller Rink on The Boulevard. Bring your vintage roller skates or rent some. The Block Party features a 215ft road mural, patio space, outdoor games, and local art, Get a bite at the Food Lodge, shop outdoor Artisan Collective markets, and or play some lawn games,
Celebrate Canada Day and the 6th anniversary of Studio Bell (the National Music Centre). Explore new exhibitions, family-friendly activities, and pop-up performances throughout the centre.
Open 10am to 5pm with pay-what-you-can admission.
July 1st is the opening of the Luminarium at Telus Spark. It's a giant inflatable multi-colored thing you can walk through. Looks awesome. The Luminarium closes August 1, note admission is not included with admission to Telus Spark - it's extra.

The Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre is holding a Canada Day Celebration on July 1st from 11 AM - 4 PM. Come down to 197 1st Street SW to celebrate the rich culture in Canada. Lion dance starting at 11 AM at the Daqing Square. There will also be multiple performances by martial art groups, singers, and different multicultural acts, including an Indigenous ceremony blessing. An assortment of free souvenirs will be given out on the day of the event, as well as booths featuring a variety of vendors.
Holiday Tea at Heritage Park. Ticket price: $25.95 + GST for adult and $17.50 + GST for child (under 12)
Celebrate Canada day at Eau Claire with a Market. Noon-8pm. Indoors and Outdoors.
Summer on 17th is a summer long free event at Tomkins Park (little park in the middle of 17th ave). It kicks off July 1 and goes to September 21.
Whiskey Rose is kicking off Stampede a few days early with the opening of their tent on 17th ave starting July 1. Live music starts at 1pm on Canada Day.
The City is putting on events at Fort Calgary, St. Patrick's Island, and Olympic Plaza. Fireworks will be launched from atop the Calgary Municipal Building. (Info below copied from City of Calgary's website)
