There are SO many options for distilleries around the city! These are great to include as part of a crawl or to stop at on their own. Make sure you check their hours ahead of time because some of them are weird. (Also some have food and some don't, so you may need to eat ahead!).
My current faves from this list are:
- Starr Distilling
- Romero
- Two Rivers
Me... handing you a drink?
Starr Distilling recently opened to the public in the space that was formerly Burwood. This distillery has excellent drinks and is most well known for their Summer Love vodka. What's lesser known is how fantastic the food is. The quality is outstanding, expect a premium meal here.
Confluence is easy to find as it's right in the barley belt. It's definitely worth a stop as they have a good variety of cocktails that are expertly made and delicious. They also sell carbonated canned cocktails which are amazing. Stop by on a weekday for one of their movie nights!
Two Rivers Distillery is known for their award winning and creative vodka's and gins. Their Hibiscus Gin is one of the most popular but my favorite is the Jalapeno Vodka. You can also find absinthe, coffee liquor, Rhubarb Gin and Dill Pickle Vodka!
Romero is known for their excellent rum and for their connection to Bret "The Hitman" Hart! Did you know they also hold the Guiness world record for the world's largest Cuba Libre (rum & coke)!
Unlikely the others on this list, I'd say Last Best is first a restaurant, second a brewery, and lastly a distillery. So you won't get a distillery vibes from their location. I believe, they only distill gin but according to their website they are award winning and they also sell canned carbonated cocktails.
I have not yet made it to Bridgeland distillery. :( It's on my list as they have a really interesting collection of unique things not distilled elsewhere in the city e.g. grappolo, brandy, amaro and limoncello. They also have bottled pre-made cocktail mixes that look delightful, like Old Fashioned and Manhattan.
Burwood Distillery is now in the Currie Barracks at an innovative spot called Veranda. There's a bar if you want Burwood Spirits and a taproom if you want Vacaay brewed beer. They also have a full menu with pizza, pastas, salads and even seafood.
Depending on where you live this might be a slight drive (it's in the NE) but the drive is worth it! The cocktails are honestly so good, I wish they were closer to me. They are also right next to SunnyCider and Heathen's brewing so you can do a mini-crawl.
Uncommon Cidery can be found in the midst of the Barley Belt, so if you need a break from beer definitely stop by. This place is small and cute and has bright pink decor. The best part about Uncommon are their cider slurpees in the summer time! SO GOOD!
I've been to SunnyCider a number of times. You can find them in the NE next to Heathen's Brewing and Broken Spirits Distilling. They have lots of ciders to try in a welcoming space!
