Calgary's Best Patios Guide

I think this spot on Stephen Ave wins for Calgary's most beautiful rooftop patio – it has amazing views of the Calgary Tower and downtown! Can be pricey but one of a kind.

Spectacular views and whiskey-inspired cocktails to sip on at the One 18 Empire rooftop! This is a hidden gem that many don't know about.

Located 27 floors up, this small glass encased patio seating is a must try for special occasions during the summer months. Expensive but worth it for the views.

While the views are more so of the sky and the National Music Centre and not so much of Calgary, there’s LOTS of room here. 

National on Stephen Ave is well known for its party rooftop for a reason! It’s a great place to hang out in the summer - it gives off NYC vibes. 

This is an extremely popular patio for 20-somethings, so while there’s still a decent amount of space, expect a wait to get up there. It's awesome once you're in though! 

Right next to the Bow River, this rooftop spot has amazing views of downtown with a refreshing feel. NOTE: there's usually a waitlist for the rooftop, but they do take resos! 

I don't know about you, but sometimes I forget this one even exists. It’s a pretty sweet and conveniently central spot attached to Chinook Mall. 

Another patio I often forget about because it's a little bit hidden and not very big - but it’s still a great outdoor space on top of National 10th! 

This spacious patio is doing the most in the summertime with live music and monthly movie viewings under the stars. Great views of the Bow Skyscraper!

The next best thing to a quick trip to Tuscany is an afternoon on this patio! Try your luck as a walk-in, but once you see this spot for yourself, you’ll get why resos are highly recommended.  

Casual with contemporary touches, it gives off laidback, unpretentious vibes of a traditional eatery in Mexico.

Lush, luxe, and green, with a decent amount of lounge space! It’s a little more upscale and classy-casual, but still feels comfortable. There’s a solid chance this spot will become a fave after spending some time here.  

Nestled into a serene spot along the river, their terrace feels more like you’re off somewhere romantic and rustic rather than surrounded by a busy city. Parking can be a struggle at times, but the path through Prince's Island Park to this special spot helps make up for it.    

Calgary has NO POOLS to hang out by… well, except for this one! Hotel Arts revamped its pool and lounge area and gave it a fun new name. Check it out, but make sure you make a reso -- this place is always FULL!
